The spark that started it all

Bold In Threads was born from one of those moments in life where everything changes in the blink of an eye. After being made redundant and struggling with ill health, I knew I needed a different path. I wanted something that worked around my health, something creative, and something that gave me back a sense of purpose. So, from home, with determination, stubbornness and probably far too much tea and chocolate, a business began.

Embroidered with personality and attitude

But as the business grew, I realised something important...I didn't want to create the same safe, practical gifts everyone else was making. I wanted personality. I wanted gifts that made people snort laugh when they opened them. Gifts with attitude. Things that reflect my own humour, sarcasm and slightly feral outlook on life. I wanted people to see something I made and think, "That is SO me." That's where Bold In Threads really found its identity.

Why 'fun, bold, and full of personality'?

Bold In Threads was built to be different. My embroidery isn't about being prim and proper or painfully polished. It's about personality. Humour. Attitude. The kind of gifts that make people laugh out loud, raise an eyebrow, or instantly tag their best friends. Every design reflects a bit of my sense of humour and the belief that handmade products don't have to be boring to be beautiful. While a lot of embroidery businesses play safe, I lean into bold, cheeky, sarcastic, sweary gifts. It's for people who want something with bite. Because life's too short for boring gifts!

"I want people to open a Bold In Threads parcel and instantly smile."

I want people to feel like they've found a brand that gets them. It's about creating gifts that make people feel seen, understood and maybe laugh loudly enough to snort tea through their nose.
